Some of us visited the Tulum Mayan Ruins. Sixty restored temples are in Tulum to be
visited, some still desplaying the hieroglyphic writings. The famous magnificent ruins of this walled
city are a reminder of a truly incredible ancient Mayan culture. The tour guide explained the secrets,
facts, myths, and legends of the long forgotten city. |
Tulum, Mexico
|
Chacchoben, Mexico |
Puerto Costa Maya was our next port of call and we traveled via motorcoach to
the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins in a secluded jungle setting near the border of Belize. While we were strolling
through an area of Mayan temples, gardens and pyramids, our guide explained the history of the ruins. Chacchoben
is an ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known in the past as "The Place of Red Corn".
